As you know Hand on Heart is a dedicated children’s charity that has a mission to keep children safe and prevent the deaths of 12 young people who die each week due to sudden cardiac arrest.
Did you know that its National Heart month from the 1st to the 28th February and on behalf of the team at Hand on Heart, the companies within Birchwood Park are invited to Wear Red for one day and show your support and generosity in helping to make schools and community groups to become heart safe and receive a defibrillator with lifesaving training.
It doesn’t matter when you hold your fundraising day in February, whatever you do just join in and have some fun.
Ideas for wear red day could be:
- Wearing red clothing
- Baking and eating red cakes
- Drink red drinks
- Have a Heart themed cake competition
- Guess how many love hearts there are in a jar
- Song competition – can you list 20 songs with the word ‘Heart’ in the title without googling them!
Hand on Heart’s vision is that all educational and community facilities for children’s activities have defibrillators in place and are confident to manage a health emergency and that deaths from sudden cardiac arrest are prevented.
By doing this Hand on Heart are giving people in local communities the opportunity to bring chances of survival from 6% to over 74% when CPR and a defibrillator is used. So your support will be very much appreciated and help us to continue to do the work we do.
If you would like to take part in our Wear Red event please send us your details (see below), a fundraising pack will be sent out to you with details of how to make the most of your day.
