Warrington East Phases 2 and 3 project update

Warrington East Phase 3 – M62 junction 11 to Moss Gate
Traffic management change from 7 October
Westbound traffic towards Warrington from M62 junction 11 will be switched onto the new carriageway of Birchwood Way early on Monday morning, 7th October. Eastbound traffic will continue to travel on the old carriageway towards M62. There will be one lane in each direction, and the 30mph speed limit will still be in force. To allow the switch to be made, Birchwood Way will be closed in both directions on Sunday night, 6th October, from 8pm until 5am between Moss Gate / Daten Avenue junction and M62. Diversions will be signed via Birchwood Way, Woolston Grange Avenue, M6 junction 21, M6 junction 21A/M62 junction 10.  The switch will allow the work on the centre reservation to be continued.

Warrington East Phase 2
Completion of the road marking work is programmed for Friday night, 4th October from 7pm. This will be at Oakwood Gate, Fearnhead Lane and the College Place area. The work will be mostly carried out using lane closures for traffic management, except that Birchwood Way will be closed in both directions between Blackbrook Avenue and College Place at this time. Traffic will be diverted via Crab Lane, Enfield Park Road and Blackbrook Avenue. A programme of snagging and landscaping works is underway to complete the project during the next few weeks. Some off-peak lane closures will be in place where necessary to carry out these works safely.
