Travel Alert: Overturned lorry closes access to Moss Gate from Birchwood Way

An overturned lorry has closed access to Moss Gate and the M62 from Birchwood Way at the Penta Hotel roundabout. Access to the ‘Dog Bone’ island from this hotel will be permitted.

The ‘Dog Bone’ island can be accessed however alternative routes to Moss Gate and the M62 should be used until further notice.

Network Warrington have informed us the shuttle bus route, and No 17 bus route have been changed for tonight on advice from the police to avoid Birchwood Way:

Shuttle bus – the shuttle bus will NOT be passing the Bridgewater Place bus stop. It will only pick up at the Chadwick House bus stop.

Anyone wanting to catch the shuttle bus tonight should make their way to the Chadwick House bus stop.

No 17 service – this will come up past Chadwick House, turn right onto Faraday Street, go left on Cavendish Avenue and then onto Daten Avenue to continue its usual route.

There may be slight delays to both services due depending on traffic in the area.
