It’s now officially Spring, and our landscaping team have put together a list of their top tips for keeping your garden looking amazing, ready for the coming months.
- Begin mowing lawns – set mower at a high cut, tidy edges with a half-moon edger and edging shears.
- Feed and mulch all woody and herbaceous perennial plants, as the soil starts to warm up.
- After they flower, prune spring-flowering shrubs and climbers. Also prune late summer-flowering plants.
- Divide clump-forming perennials, bamboos, ferns and grasses.
- Trim established evergreen hedges (such as conifers or privet) in late spring, if needed.
- Put in place support for perennial and biennials that they will need during growth, to protect from heavy winds and rain.
