Take part in the government’s new Kickstart Scheme

Can you help a young person aged 16-24 develop their skills through the Kickstart Scheme?

The Kickstart Scheme is a £2billion fund to create high quality 6-month work placements for young people aged 16-24, who are claiming Universal Credit.

The Government will fully fund each Kickstart placement paying 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours per week for the 25 week period. There will also be funding available to support young people to develop new skills and help move them into sustained employment at the end of the placement.

Warrington Borough Council are acting as an intermediary for SME’s who don’t have the required cohort of 30 placements, to enable them to still be involved and take part. Employment and training support is also available from WBC to meet the requirement of the scheme.

Please contact Jackie Emson on Employmentdevelopmentteam@warrington.gov.uk for further information.

There is also a government website for more details of the scheme at www.gov.uk/kickstart
