The Straw Bear Festival follows Plough Monday, the first Monday after the 12th night when ploughmen used to drag a decorated plough through the streets and ask for money, since work was scarce in January. A straw bear might make an appearance with Molly dancers.
Tuck into pork chops braised in cyder, apple and cinnamon with bashed carrots amd butter pie spuds. Served on Thursday 14th January from 12noon-2pm at The Garden Restaurant.
