The Straw Bear Festival follows Plough Monday, the first Monday after 12th night, when ploughmen used to drag a decorated plough through the streets and ask for money, since work was scarce in January.
A straw bear might make an appearance, or it could be his day off, after a busy few days helping people to take down their Christmas decorations.
To mark the occasion why not tuck into our special menu on Monday 16th January from 12-2pm at The Garden Restaurant. On offer: steak, sausage, and onion pie, served with grain mustard mash, and roasted carrots.
