Sarah Oliver, a children’s author with over 20 books under her belt, including the Sunday Times Bestseller One Direction A-Z, has become a patron of Hand on Heart.
Sarah is best known for her biographies on the likes of Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Rihanna, and has written more books on One Direction than anyone else. A mum-of-two, Sarah enjoys inspiring young children to dream big dreams by visiting schools, giving author talks and running writing workshops.
Sarah says: “Being invited to become a patron of Hand on Heart is a huge honour and I feel very privileged. The work they do, and their commitment to placing a defibrillator in every school in the UK, is so important, it’s saving lives. I am looking forward to helping them achieve this, and would encourage any school that doesn’t currently have a defibrillator to get in touch with Hand on Heart today, don’t wait. As a mum, myself, I was shocked to learn that every week twelve young people die due to sudden cardiac arrest, and I’m so relieved that my oldest daughter’s nursery has a defibrillator already, but not all nurseries and schools do. As parents, we need to take action, really push the issue in schools and play our part.
