With seven days packed full of Indian flavour, National Curry Week runs from the 7-11th October.
First recorded in 1590-1600, curry is from the Tamil word ka?i sauce. The rhyming slang has many claimants but was probably a play on Ruby Florence Murray who had a string of hits in the 50s, unlike Edith Piaf who had a string of onions.
