Miller Homes Supports Early Careers with Industry-Leading Apprenticeship and Training Programmes

As part of its commitment to encouraging future talent, Miller Homes is proud to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week by shining a spotlight on its Early Talent Scheme.

Designed to provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and nationally recognised qualifications, the scheme offers school leavers and aspiring professionals the opportunity to gain invaluable insight into the housebuilding industry.

The programme aligns with Miller Homes’ long-term commitment to developing skills within the industry, with a target of ensuring that 5% of its workforce is classified as Early Talent, which includes trainees, apprentices, and graduates. Each year, the company offers a range of training positions based on business needs and future growth plans.

Miller Homes’ Early Talent Scheme offers participants the chance to work on real projects, equipping them with practical skills while receiving structured support from experienced mentors. Apprentices and trainees benefit from working alongside industry professionals while developing their knowledge through a nationally accredited qualification.

Among those taking advantage of the programme is Mia Ullmer, an 18-year-old technical trainee in the North West. Mia has always had a passion for design and technology, particularly CAD (computer-aided design), and found Miller Homes’ programme to be the perfect fit.

Similarly, Billy Jepson, a 19-year-old commercial trainee, was drawn to Miller Homes due to its strong industry reputation. “When looking for an apprenticeship, Miller Homes stood out because of the opportunities they provide for young people entering construction,” he says. “I’ve already started learning the ins and outs of the trade, from measuring technical drawings to getting to grips with industry software.”

The scheme also extends beyond traditional construction roles. Libby, a BTEC Level 3 Business student from Cronton Sixth Form College, recently completed a placement with Miller Homes, gaining first-hand experience in the business side of the industry. Her placement allowed her to develop essential workplace skills while contributing to real business projects.

With apprenticeship and training roles across various departments—including technical, commercial, and land. In addition to these schemes, Miller Homes are calling for recent graduates to join its sales team in the North West region.
