Local Schools Seeking New Trustees – Can You Help?

One Community Trust is a group of local schools (a multi academy trust) in the Warrington area. As a Trust we are committed to making sure our children have the best possible start in life from their education. We are looking for people who are interested in helping us shape our strategic direction by joining our board of Trustees.

Trustee roles are voluntary and unpaid but if you are interested in giving something back to the community by supporting the next generation and have the following skills we would like to hear from you:

  • Business management
  • Health and safety
  • Finance
  • Marketing and communications

You can find out more about One Community Trust on our website: www.onecommunitytrust.co.uk

What will you be doing:

The Board of Trustees meets three times per year. Some trustees also sit on the trust’s Business, Risk and Audit Committee which also meets three times per year. Others attend OCT’s Standards Group which has oversight of educational performance and meets twice per year. The trust is happy to accommodate hybrid meetings where trustees can attend either in person or remotely.

In addition, Trustees may be invited to visit trust schools in the day. There are also opportunities to attend trustee training courses throughout the year.

Trustees are subject to a safer recruitment process which includes enhanced criminal records and barring checks.

If you are:

  • analytical and enquiring
  • have a drive for improvement
  • feel able to support and challenge academy senior leaders
  • have confidence, with support, in assessing data relating to organisational performance

We’d like to hear from you
