It’s Business as Usual as Cavendish Nuclear continues to deliver critical radiological protection instrument services at Sellafield

Cavendish Nuclear, our occupier on Dalton Avenue has been busy ensuring that it stays business as usual for their important work with Sellafield in maintaining safe operations.

Radiological protection instruments are vital for keeping workers safe, and Cavendish Nuclear is a key member of the supply chain delivering this capability to Sellafield Ltd.

Maintaining these important services with reduced staff numbers during Covid19 has proved a challenge, but Cavendish Nuclear have adapted quickly to their new working environment, while continuing to uphold safety criteria and provide monitors for dose rate and contamination surveys and checks.

Alan Blundell, Sellafield Ltd’s Head of Radiometrics Equipment Programme said, “This has been a truly collaborative approach with the Cavendish Nuclear Radiological Protection Instrumentation team flexing and adapting to meet the site’s changing and emerging needs. At the end of the first week, it feels like we’re beginning to settle into a new rhythm.

“Sellafield both recognises and values the efforts Cavendish Nuclear is making to maintain as `normal` a service as possible under challenging circumstances.”
