Hoover's Cook Along with Simon Rimmer to fund more than 7,000 meals for children's charity

Leading domestic appliance manufacturer, Hoover, has raised £2,500 for the charity Magic Breakfast through a virtual Cook Along with Hoover’s cooking ambassador, British cook and restaurateur, Simon Rimmer.

The charity aims to end hunger as a barrier to education in UK schools through the provision of healthy breakfasts to vulnerable children and the money raised will fund thousands of meals.

During the virtual cook along, hosted on Zoom last Saturday (5th September 2020), Simon demonstrated how to cook Huevos Rancheros, a spicy Mexican breakfast. He provided step-by-step guidance in real time to help participants with everything from prepping the ingredients to serving the meal.

Antony Peart, brand and communications director from Hoover, said: “We are absolutely delighted that our virtual cook along with Simon was a success and that we’re able to make such a significant donation to Magic Breakfast, a charity which Hoover couldn’t be more proud to support.

“Along with Simon, we are passionate in our belief that no child should start the day hungry and we hope that this donation goes some way to making sure that doesn’t happen.”

Alex Cunningham, CEO of Magic Breakfast, said: “This donation will help us provide over 7,000 meals and wrap around support for children which is fantastic.

“Child hunger and food insecurity are issues that affect an increasing number of families in the UK in light of the pandemic, so we want to take this opportunity to thank both Hoover and Simon for their fundraising efforts. We are incredibly grateful, and their support will make a huge difference to so many children.”
