This month our building manager Gary Clarke has been taking part in the gruelling Goggins Challenge with colleagues from CBRE across the region.
Gary had to run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours. This worked out as a total of 13 runs, totalling 52 miles – or 2 marathons!
Gary said “it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I expected it to be physically tough, but the mental side of everything wears you down. Obviously lack of sleep doesn’t help, but it becomes lonely as your mind wanders, you get sick of your music, and you get more and more exhausted.
“I am so pleased I completed the challenge. The sense of achievement was overwhelming. That being said, I definitely would not do it again!”
In total, the whole team have so far raised just over £6000, which is amazing! All money raised will go directly to the British Heart Foundation.
