The Client
ESG is a leading provider of energy software platforms, serving over 400 energy retailers, generators, and asset management firms in the UK, North America, and Canada. Their technology supports key energy-related services such as CRM, billing, pricing, settlement, smart metering, and asset tracking. ESG’s UK operations are based in Chorley, Lancashire.
Business Needs
When Mark Smith was appointed as ESG’s Global Head of Corporate IT in 2022, he inherited a makeshift setup for the company’s quarterly town hall meetings. The system was a temporary mix of equipment, including roll-on TVs and borrowed audio gear, which worked for smaller internal meeting but was far from ideal for the larger setup with 100 on-site participants and 300 Teams attendees. The space itself presented challenges, as it wasn’t suited for traditional AV setups, requiring a flexible and easy-to-use solution.
The Solution

- Yealink’s S90 Microsoft Teams Rooms System with dual-eye intelligent cameras.
- An electric screen that could be lowered from the ceiling.
- An Epson projector with high brightness to cope with natural light.
- Extron controllers and Biamp audio equipment for clear, consistent sound throughout the room.
The solution was finalised after a hands-on demonstration, and ESG felt confident moving forward. The installation was completed smoothly in three days, with Avoira’s team accommodating last-minute adjustments.
