The Council’s Road Safety Team will be at the EngineRooms today to raise awareness on drinking and driving.

Most drivers would never consider consuming any alcohol and then either driving a vehicle, riding a bicycle or motorcycle. But at this time of year, with more socialising both in restaurants and bars and at home it is all too easy to not realise the amount of alcohol you are drinking and then unwittingly becoming over the legal drink drive limit.
The Road Safety Team will here advise what a unit of alcohol is, the current legal limits, potential penalties, how to find out how many units a drink has and also to suggest ways to reduce your unit consumption.
