Chocolate Orange Challenge 2015 – please join in

Over the past few years, Chris Lamb has been collecting Terry’s Chocolate Oranges from very kind colleagues, members of the public and complete strangers in the run up to Christmas, passing them on to lots of doctors and nurses in children’s and cancer hospitals, as well as hospices across the North West and beyond.

The reason Chris does this is in memory of his son Elliott, to say thank you to them all for the incredible work they do for our loved ones. It started off with just one Chocolate Orange and has grown to over 5200 last year. Colleagues across DWP from Newcastle, Sheffield, Leeds, Blackpool and London are taking part in the challenge again this year.

Chris siad: “The aim is to keep on growing the challenge and adding new places all over the UK and beyond too. Christmas can be an extremely sad time for many people and by doing this positive thing each year we want to encourage people to cherish their loved ones, feel that they can talk about them and thank those people who are there in our darkest hours.”

In Birchwood alone they collected over 1000 chocolate oranges last year and it would be great to beat this number this year.

Collection boxes are available at a variety of building reception desks across the Park or at The Centre until Monday 14th December.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support.
