Chaplains’ Corner

“When written in Chinese the word ‘crisis’ is composed of two characters – one represents danger and the other represents opportunity” – John F Kennedy

Isn’t it just so encouraging to know that such a potentially scary word as ‘crisis’ can be defined as both a negative, as in first impressions and as a positive?

For those of us who have experienced this Covid-19 virus first-hand, or significantly worse have lost loved ones to it. This crisis will forever have a negative impact, and yet – for those of us who are fortunate enough not to lose loved ones, there are bright spots – witnessed by the community spirit, people and organisations pulling together to support the most vulnerable. The indomitable spirit of key workers and volunteers supporting them. People abiding by the guidance to self- isolate and social distance in order to beat this virus as quickly as possible no matter what the cost.

Whatever your experience of this unprecedented situation, please remember that MitE chaplains are here for you.

Our role is to offer spiritual and pastoral support that works for you. We don’t have an agenda of our own. We are guided by you.

While we aren’t able to meet face to face during the virus lock down, you can contact a chaplain via email on info@mitechaplaincy.com and if you’d prefer to speak to someone request a call-back, we also have a range of resources on our web-site including some that are more specific to the Covid-19 outbreak: https://mite.org.uk
