A574 Birchwood Way, vegetation clearance and enabling works

Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald (BBMM) is responsible for managing and maintaining the motorway and trunk road network in Cheshire on behalf of Highways England. In 2016, BBMM will be undertaking schemes to improve and extend the connectivity of cycle routes across the network.

One of the cycle schemes which will be improved is on the A574 Birchwood Way, which goes over the M6. The proposed scheme utilises an existing footway and will be widened and realigned for use by both cyclists and pedestrians travelling along Birchwood Way. The scheme will also include works to the bridge parapet and improvements to the pedestrian safety barrier.

As part of the enabling works some vegetation clearance is scheduled to take place from 15th to 19th February 2016 between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00. A temporary lane closure and footpath closure between Fearnhead Lane and A574 Birchwood Way will be required to facilitate these works and a localised signed diversion route will be in place for pedestrians.

Works are subject to weather conditions therefore dates may change at short notice.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause you. If you wish to discuss this project further or have any questions, please contact the 24hr Highways England Customer Care team by phone on 0300 123 5000 or email info@highwaysengland.co.uk.
