DV8 Designs brings culinary concept to life for West Midlands pub Cock ‘N’ Bull co

Birchwood Park based DV8 Designs has unveiled its latest design project in the heart of the West Midlands in the form of the Cock ‘N’ Bull co pub.

Within just six weeks, the Warrington based architecture and interior design practice has brought the Stourbridge venue to life in line with an innovative and quirky concept featuring a cinematic back bar and bespoke graffiti artwork.

Following a six-figure sum investment, the ‘one-of-a-kind’ pub and eatery has been carefully designed and created using a casual and contemporary fit out to reflect the ethos of the brand and appeal to its target market.

Managing Director of DV8 Designs Lee Birchall said: “From start to finish, the Cock ‘N’ Bull co has been an exciting project to work with and our client, Threedom Leisure LTD, have allowed our team to be totally creative in designing a concept that really reflected the character of the newly established brand. By working across two floors, we have created a main trading and restaurant function space with the second floor operating as a kitchen and onsite tenant accommodation. We have utilised a lot of the building’s existing brick and plasterwork to form a rural and rustic design which really has the ‘wow’ factor, and added a mix of corrugated sheets and reclaimed timber cladding alongside a grey and blue palette throughout to achieve an intimate but communitive feel with a thoroughly modern edge.

“As one of our main design elements, we have introduced a striking rubbed back, green bar front and a cinematic back bar to create a ‘focal’ point for customers as soon as they enter the building. The daring combination of concrete effect tiles and timber flooring with a mix of timber and metal furniture really creates an urban feel that captures the brand perfectly.”

Established in 2006, Warrington based DV8 Designs is an architecture and interior design practice that prides itself on its thorough approach, innovative ideas and client portfolio that comprises several impressive projects with clients in hospitality, commercial, property and residential sectors.

Lee added: “The Cock ‘N’ Bull co will certainly be a totally unique location within the area, and the striking interior will really have an impact on the local community, making the venue ‘the place to be seen’. Stand-out elements such as bespoke graffiti artwork pieces and unique urban finishes are sure to capture the attention and the imagination of customers.”

DV8 Designs worked closely on the project with The Cock ‘N’ Bull’s pub company partner, Admiral Taverns. An award-winning tenanted pub group with c.850 pubs across the UK, Admiral Taverns are champions of the supported tied model as a low-risk route for entrepreneurially-minded individuals to run their own pub businesses at the heart of their local communities.
