Miller Homes Encourages Sustainable Travel With Bike Event

Award-winning homebuilder Miller Homes has recently hosted a “Dr. Bike” event at Woodville Place, which was organised by Warrington Borough council and carried out by Mike Carlin from Cheshire Cycles. Free bike servicing was offered to residents of the development, to encourage them to make sustainable travel choices and use their bike instead of getting in the car where possible.

Alongside hosting the event at its development, the homebuilder also contributed bike locks and reflective gear to cyclists, to ensure their safety on the bikes.

The Dr Bike session took place last week, with 15 bikes being serviced free of charge by Cheshire Cycles. Organised by Lesley Paterson of Warrington Borough council, over 30 bikes also received a once-over and were security marked by local PSCO Debbie Potts.

The Woodville Place development has now completed, but the homebuilder remains involved with the local community there and sticks to its promises of supporting the area.

Clare Noakes, Sales Director for Miller Homes in the North West, said: “Though we’ve moved on from selling homes at Woodville Place, we’re still keen to take up opportunities that support the health and wellbeing of the residents that live there, as well as promoting sustainable choices where we can.”

Lesley Paterson, School and Residential Travel Advisor at Warrington Council adds: “It’s been great to host this event in conjunction with Miller Homes. I think we can all do our bit to help the environment, and by servicing and carrying out minor repairs on bikes for the residents of Woodville Place, hopefully we’re contributing to making that happen. The safety equipment donated by Miller Homes will also help in encouraging more people onto their bikes too, knowing it’s safer to get out and ride with provisions in place.”

Woodville Place in Warrington is now complete, but Miller Homes continues to build quality new homes all over the North West, details of which can be found online.
