When Warrington Wolves faced off against Catalans Dragons at the end of June, LWA decided to get involved even more so than just through their sponsored player, Benjamin Jullien, by supporting the Kids2Legends programme in association with Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation (WWCF) and Box4Kids.
Kids2Legends offers unique opportunities to under privileged and seriously ill local children, and through the help of the WWCF and Box4Kids, the scheme provides some much needed happiness and respite from the troubles of day to day life for both children and their families.
When they heard about the scheme at LWA, they were delighted to get involved, so purchased a table of 10 in The Martin Dawes Legends Lounge which was open to deserving children and families nominated by local hospitals.
However, to go the extra mile, they asked Benjamin to personally visit the sponsored table, in an attempt to give their guests the best match experience possible. Families attending the match enjoyed a one-course plated meal before taking an executive seat directly outside the lounge and witnessing the spectacular win against the Catalan Dragons.
Lucy Merritt, Events Co-ordinator at Box4Kids received some great feedback from the parents in attendance, including one father who said; “Thank you very much for the Warrington Wolves tickets, we all had a fantastic time. Our son doesn’t get out much because of his condition but it was worth every second to see him enjoy himself.”
Giving back to the Warrington community is something of great importance to LWA, providing this opportunity for local children has been incredibly rewarding and is certainly something they would be thrilled to contribute to again.
