Hand On Heart Drop-in Session

Did you know that February is National Heart Month and Birchwood Park’s charity Hand on Heart (based in Chadwick House) will be offering ALL Birchwood Park employees the chance to learn CPR or refresh skills on the 12th February for FREE!

The HOH team will be offering 30 minute sessions starting from 10am onwards throughout the day, for you to learn your life saving skills.

Simply pop across to 401 Faraday Street, 2nd floor where you will see Emma and Lesley between the hours of 10.00am and 4.00pm to have your free taster session in basic life support skills including CPR, learning about the heart to and learning how to use a defibrillator.

Hand on Heart’s mission is to keep children safe and prevent the deaths of 12 young people who die of sudden cardiac arrest each week in the UK.

FACTS

  • When someone has a cardiac arrest, every minute without defibrillation reduces their chances of survival by 10%
  • If a defibrillator is used and effective CPR is performed within the first 3 to 5 minutes, survival chances increase from 6% to over 74%
