The much renowned Birchwood Christmas Market will make a welcome return on Thursday 13th December.
A host of market stalls will be selling their wares in The Centre where you can be regaled by our singer Joao, and Modjango our Gypsy guitarist duo.

João Terra or simply ‘Jao’, as people call him, was born in Brazil and moved to Liverpool just over 2 years ago. His soulful voice and unique guitar playing have been standing out in the Liverpool music scene since day one. João draws the lines of Blues, Soul, Rock and Folk comfortably, which makes it easy for people to relate to his music when he plays. “Music is not about the perfect pitch or fancy techniques, it’s about touching people’s heart,” he says. Modjango are a father and son guitar duo from the Wirral, Merseyside, who specialise in playing Jazz Manouche (Gypsy Jazz) guitar in the style of the great Django Reinhardt. Taking influences not only from Django, but also from modern day Gypsy Jazz guitarists, Spanish music, Rock, Country, Classical and a host of other sources, Modjango have created a style encompassing the greatest aspects of each of these styles, and applied it to hot-club swing Gypsy Guitar. Modjango continue to inspire musicians across the globe, bringing modern techniques and inspiration to what is probably the most emotional musical form in the world – today they will be coming to Birchwood!
