Chaplain’s Corner

The weather this week has been less from perfect, but our dedicated chaplains have been chatting to people returning to the park, providing a friendly listening ear.

The latest Chaplain’s Corner mentions how after every storm, there is always a rainbow, and we are looking forward to welcoming more of our occupiers back with rainbow like cheer!

EVERY STORM RUNS OUT OF RAIN

Looking out at the weather today feels pretty grim so far so it felt quite good to be reminded of this quote. Every storm does indeed run out of rain eventually and that applies to life’s storms as well as nature’s storms.

Sometimes it feels as if we’re never going to see the end of a stormy period in our lives and the frustration, anxiety and loss can feel overwhelming but suddenly the sun will come out from behind the clouds; the situation will ease; something will change in our reaction and life will feel brighter and the burdens and worries will feel lighter.

Life is so changeable at the moment even as the lockdown is easing and the guidance is a little less restrictive for many of us. We still have to continue to adapt and to manage any frustration or anxiety that the current constant changes bring. Talking to someone can also help to put any situation into a different perspective. Chaplains are good listeners.

I aim to wander around the duck pond and surrounding areas on Thursday lunchtimes between 12md and 2pm (on the days when the weather is dry enough for people to want to be outdoors for a while at lunchtime).

In the meantime, and on the rainy Thursdays, or if you don’t manage to catch up with me outside, as always you can contact us via email on info@mitechaplaincy.com where you can request a call-back, or you are very welcome to call me directly on my mobile: 07526 378529 either to chat or to arrange a time to meet.

We also have a range of resources on our web-site including some that are more specific to the Covid-19 outbreak and some that help in dealing with stress: https://mite.org.uk If you prefer you can easily keep in touch with us on social media:
