Every storm eventually runs out of rain ~ anon

Looking out at the weather today feels pretty grim right now, so it felt good to again be reminded of this quote. Every storm does indeed run out of rain eventually and that applies to life’s storms as well as nature’s storms, which is why I picked such a hope filled image to focus on here.

Sometimes it feels as if we’re never going to see the end of a stormy period in our lives and the frustration, anxiety and loss can feel overwhelming but suddenly the sun will come out from behind the clouds; the situation will ease; something will change in our reaction and life will feel brighter and the burdens and worries will feel lighter.

There are things that we can learn to do for ourselves that help us to reach that point sooner rather than later and there are lots of online resources that we can access to help us with this. Some can be found on our own web-site and I’ve added a couple of other hopefully useful resources below too. If you’d like to explore this with a chaplain you are very welcome to call or text me directly on my mobile: 07526 378529. Alternatively you can email info@mite.org.uk and request a call back.

We have a range of resources on our web-site including some that are more specific to the Covid-19 outbreak and some that help in dealing with stress: https://mite.org.uk/quietspace and you can find other resources on Mental Health Matters and in this TED talk How to be kinder to yourself amongst many other online offerings that will come up in any Google search.

If you prefer you can easily keep in touch with us on social media: Facebook: @mitechaplaincy Twitter: @mitesthwarr and in the meantime I leave you with this image from Tiny Buddha as a reminder:
