Chaplain’s Corner

Life is full of challenges, some small and some huge. We never know when the next one will come along and sometimes it’s difficult to imagine how we will overcome them when we are in the midst of one. The tough challenges can leave us feeling drained and stressed, reluctant to get out of bed and face the day.

However, sometimes it is good to challenge ourselves, to step out of our comfort zone and to try something new or maybe to motivate ourselves to engage in learning a new skill. This type of challenge can make us feel fresh and invigorated, it can motivate us to grow in confidence as well as skills. If we pick something fun and don’t take ourselves too seriously challenging ourselves in this way can also have a really positive impact on our mental health and wellbeing.

As part of that philosophy I’ve signed up to Magda’s latest Alive and Well Tic Toc dance challenge, why not join me if you haven’t already? This is the type of challenge that can definitely have a positive impact on your mental health and wellbeing.

If that’s really not your thing – what was the last thing that you did challenge yourself to do? How did it go? How did you feel afterwards? If you are feeling a little stressed or overwhelmed by any of life’s current challenges remember that MitE chaplains are here to listen.

You can catch up with me around the duck pond and surrounding areas on Thursday lunchtimes between 12md and 2pm on dry days or on the rainy Thursdays, (or if you don’t manage to catch up with me outside), you are very welcome to call me directly on my mobile: 07526 378529 either to chat or to arrange a time to meet, or if you prefer you can contact us via email on info@mitechaplaincy.com where you can also request a call-back.
