Chadwick House staff support to first coin count of 2017.
Chadwick House Security staff member Stewart Todd and Birchwood Park receptionist Susan Doyle joined the team from charity Hand on Heart for their first intu Trafford Centre Fountain Fund coin count to help continue the charities Manchester campaign.
12 young people losing their lives every week due to sudden cardiac arrest, the charity want to help reduce this number..
One way to achieve this is to have campaigns in towns and cities to raise the profile of this issue and fund defibrillators and training for the schools and as part of our work in Greater Manchester we are actively supporting Manchester City schools via funds from the Intu Trafford Fountain fund.
There are 149 state funded primary schools in Manchester. Our latest research tells us 113 of the 149 schools now have a defibrillator leaving just 36 schools that still need Hand on Hearts help. The donations received from their first coin count have made 4 schools heart safe and each one will be receiving their package this month.
These packages will include the defibrillator, AED staff training and one class of 30 students will each receive basic life skills.
Victoria Burrows Chief Executive of the charity commented “What a lovely way to start 2017, our sincere thanks to the customers of intu Trafford Centre for their generosity and our congratulations to : Sandilands Primary, Rolls Crescent Primary, The Willows Primary and Webster Primary who will shortly receive their packages. As a small team we rely on the support of our fabulous volunteers to help us on these days. Its hard work but great fun. Thank you to all of our volunteers including Stewart and Susan who braved the cold washing and counting the donations and we look forward to our next count in March”.
