Please help & support one of our occupiers, EFG European Furniture Group who are gathering donations to help the people currently living in Europe’s refugee camps. Your donations will be shipped to people living in these desperate conditions by Refugee Aid North West. With the next shipment being 26th March.
Refugee Aid North West is a small charity run by a local women called Nora Carlin, they deal mainly in physical donations, rather than cash. They are making a huge difference, distributing goods to those in desperate need in the camps around Europe.
An estimated 9 million Syrians have fled their homes since the outbreak of civil war in March 2011, taking refuge in neighbouring countries or within Syria itself. It’s estimated that 150,000 Syrians have declared asylum in Europe so far and the numbers are increasing dramatically everyday. More than half of all Syrian refugees are under the age of 18. These children have lost their homes, belongings, friends and families during the Syrian conflicts. We can hold out the hand of support to those who made the treacherous journey to these camps by buying an extra pack of nappies on our weekly shops or spring clean our cloak cupboards for any coats and jackets we may have forgot had even existed!
If you can help, please do – we will have a collection point set up at The Centre from 16th March until Friday 1st April.
Below you will find a list of the most needed items at the moment. If you are having a clear out or you can add an extra item in your trolley when you do your weekly shop it would all be very much appreciated.
