Following on from last year’s success at the Institution of Structural Engineers Awards, Arcadis’ transformation of Manchester Victoria Station has received the ‘Large Project of the Year Award’ at the annual Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) North West Civil Engineering Awards.
The ICE praised the complex £44 million redevelopment of Manchester’s second-largest station, which transformed the grade II listed structure into a ‘leading example of a successful, fully integrated transport hub’, heralding it as a ‘flagship for northern investment’.
The event, held in Carlisle, saw the team receive the award from ICE President Sir John Armitt.
On receiving the award, Carl Elam, who managed the project for Arcadis commented: “To have this project recognised by the ICE means a great deal to the entire team and to me personally, it’s also great exposure for the Arcadis brand – especially in a strong category containing excellent projects from the likes of United Utilities and Mott MacDonald.”
