PATRIZIA UK, the manager of Birchwood Park, Warrington, has welcomed its newest occupier Hand on Heart, the registered charity that provides defibrillators to schools and communities across the UK.
Hand on Heart joins Birchwood Park’s Chadwick House from its previous base in Irlam, Manchester, after looking to expand to an office location that offered the excellent connectivity and transport links required to support the charity’s work on a national scale.
The charity’s goal is to prevent the deaths of the 12 young people who die weekly due to a sudden cardiac arrest, through raising awareness, providing much needed defibrillators for schools and basic life support education to young people.
Commenting on the move, Victoria Burrows, Chief Executive at Hand on Heart, said: “A key factor when deciding to move offices was Birchwood Park’s ability to combine such a wide range of amenities on site, with the connectivity we needed. There is a real sense of community spirit from the moment you step onto the park, and I have no doubt this will play a huge part in the continued wellbeing and motivation of our staff.”
Hand on Heart’s new home at Chadwick House is at the heart of Birchwood Park, putting employees in the prime spot for access to a range of facilities at business and leisure destination The Centre, as well as weekly community activities including movie nights and yoga.
Victoria Burrows continued: “Hand on Heart has come a long way since becoming a registered charity in 2012. To date we have placed 900 defibrillators in schools, educated over 6,000 staff and trained more than 21,000 pupils. These numbers are going up every day but we still have a lot of work to do to raise awareness of the risks posed by sudden cardiac arrest for young people. Our new base at Birchwood Park will ensure we can continue to expand our reach and forge new connections with businesses and individuals.”
